Marine Service Centre

In 1984, the APPA, now known as the FRAPP, created a non-profit company called the Marine Service Centre (MSC) to look over the management of the Shippagan’s marine service centre, a facility under the New Brunswick Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries. This management is set out in a management contract with the New Brunswick Department of Fisheries.

In order to ensure the security of boats stored at the Shippagan marine service centre, the entire parking area is fenced and equipped with a mechanical barrier with magnetic card access and a video surveillance system.

The Shippagan MSC offers the fishing industry and pleasure boat owners a boat hoisting service (out of the water) assisted by a 200-ton capacity portal bridge crane. The MSC also offers a storage service, a back in the water service, as well as various related individual services such as electricity supply, scaffolding, snow removal, pressure washing of boats, etc.
