Crab Fleets

Today, the traditional midshore snow crab fleet in the South of the Gulf of St. Lawrence is composed of 122 boats, including 70 in New Brunswick. However, taking into account the newly granted access to Aboriginal fishermen, the number of boats participating in the fishing can reach 400 boats depending on the total catch allowance. The APPCA represents more than 30 captain owners who are part of the traditional midshore fleet from New Brunswick.
